When a trip to Deptford was suggested, I was totally up for it as Deptford Dockyard has been of some interest to me since I accidentally ended up including it in my first YouTube video, about the Woolwich locations in the 1960s B-thriller, The Silent Playground.
The view of Greenwich from the foreshore makes the trip down the muddy stairs worth it alone, especially on a glorious morning like this one. We walked as far as Deptford Creek and then back as far as the end of the large jetty at Convoy's Wharf, in the very early stages of redevelopment as Jetty Park.
So, apart from the view and what turned out to be a famous find, how was it? Mostly muddy! And I have some lovely blue and white bits and chonky glass to make future items from.
